christopherchild Some of the finest hard hitting and left field techno I've heard. Both for the dance floor, headphones, and car rides. The Lory D track "Acid" is an insanely hypnotic acid beast, while the Fade Mohem tracks have an old school Autechre flavor.

about

Seilscheibenpfeiler Schallplatten Berlin is your prime destination for high-quality dancefloor madness. 13 releases in, we’re ready to present our first best of compilation featuring 13 tracks, because every single record is amazing. It’s been 25 years since the inception of Seilscheibenpfeiler in 1994 with the debut of Fundamental Knowledge (Sebastian Szary). After many years of silence the imprint was reborn in 2018 with its second overall release.

This may be the most unlikely label anniversary of all time with the most unlikely hit records by friends new and old, breakthrough acts and eminent producers. Seilscheibenpfeiler has been called „a place for purist sounds with experimental or melodic flair“ and a worthy successor of former Monkeytown offshoot 50Weapons, „whose rowdy spirit, if not its taste for experimentation, lives on in Seilscheibenpfeiler.“

Peder Mannerfelt’s bittersweet synth symphony „Lucid In The Sky“ meets Fadi Mohem’s boomy breakbeats, Lory D’s singular acid variations are perfectly matched by Solid Blake’s slamming blend of electro and techno. There’s one of the original mid-90s Fundamental Knowledge tracks as well as a classy rework of another one by our main man Fadi Mohem. And of course we included Kasper Marott’s brilliant Italo tinged „Keflavik“, „one of the biggest club records of the year.“ (RA)

Take this round-up as a promise: Seilscheibenpfeiler just got started.

Founded by Modeselektor’s Sebastian Szary and Gernot Bronsert in the early techno-era of post-wall Berlin, the label has grown into an outpost for forward-looking artists and daring new club music, demonstrating what dance music is capable of. ... more
